Chronology of cameras Agfa Ansco
Agfa and Ansco joined forces in the American market between 1928 and 1943. Agfa-Ansco, a subsidiary of I.G. Farbenindustrie in the United States infiltrated by Nazi spies (as reported on the evening of August 5, 1951), was absorbed as enemy property, and Ansco continued its activities independently.
During this period, some models were marketed under the Agfa Ansco or Ansco brand. This partnership is the reason why one can find Agfa cameras labeled "Made in USA."
In the years preceding the entry of the United States into the war, Ansco still displayed its affiliation with Agfa, and the cameras bore this brand, including on models manufactured in the USA and without equivalent at Agfa, as is the case with this Viking.
Existing in PB20 or PB16 (620 or 616), this folding camera is distinguished by the particular shape of its struts, formed by a horizontal section ending, on the body side, in a curved arc shape.
The model exists in 616 format (PB16) or 620 (PB20), each time offered with an f/6.3 or f/7.7 lens.
